Bai Dinh - Pagoda - Ninh Binh – VietNam

Bai Dinh pagoda complex consists of an ancient pagoda and a new pagoda built in 2003. The pagoda is located on the mountainside, between immense valleys of lakes and rocky mountains, at the western gateway to Hoa Lu ancient capital. The new pagoda architecture is monumental, massive but imbued with traditional identity. Therefore, this place soon became a famous destination. Bai Dinh pagoda area has been honored by the media as the largest temple complex in Southeast Asia.

Bai Dinh pagoda was mentioned by the press as a big temple with Asian records :
1. The largest gold-plated Buddha image in Asia 100-ton.
2. The largest bronze Maitreya Buddha image in Southeast Asia: the Maitreya Buddha statue is 100 tons outdoors.
3. Largest bronze bell in Vietnam: Great common bell weighs 36 tons in the Bell Tower.
4. The highest Stupa in Asia: The Stupa of Bai Dinh pagoda (Ninh Binh) has 13 floors, 100m high.
5. The largest pagoda area in Vietnam: total 539 ha (particularly ancient pagoda 27 ha, new pagoda 80 ha).
6. The pagoda area has the longest Arhat corridor in Asia: the pagoda area is nearly 3 km long.
7. The pagoda area has the most Arhat statues in Vietnam: 500 green stone pillars of about 2m high.
8. The pagoda has the largest pearl well in Vietnam.
9. The temple area has the most number of Bodhi trees in Vietnam: 100 Bodhi trees are extracted from the Indian Bodhi tree.
